HFR Consultants BV was founded in 1996 as a specialized IT consultancy firm. Over the following two decades, we built deep partnerships with leading banks and insurance companies across Europe, before specializing further with payment service providers — delivering mission-critical solutions for payment systems, API integrations, and enterprise security.
That deep technology foundation became the springboard for something new. When we entered the hospitality sector — first as investors, then as operators — we saw firsthand how fragmented the technology landscape was for independent hotels.
Today, HFR Consultants BV operates as a holding company with three distinct ventures, each born from the same principle: apply enterprise-grade thinking to underserved markets.

Our property investment vehicle. H2 Properties identifies and acquires promising real estate opportunities, with a focus on hospitality and residential assets in the Dutch market.
Boutique Hotel Margretha
Our hospitality business — a 6-suite boutique hotel in Zandvoort. More than just a property, Margretha is our living laboratory where every operational insight directly shapes our technology development.

Our flagship technology venture. Born from the daily frustrations of running Boutique Hotel Margretha, HFO Admin is a unified hotel operations platform that replaces a patchwork of expensive add-on tools with one integrated system.
HFO Admin — Born from the Front Desk
Most hotel software is built by engineers who have never made a bed or answered a guest's midnight WhatsApp. HFO Admin is different.
When we began operating Boutique Hotel Margretha, we quickly discovered a painful reality: running a small hotel meant juggling five or six separate tools — one for guest messaging, another for smart locks, yet another for check-in forms, plus task management, upselling, and more. Each tool cost €30–100 per month, none of them talked to each other, and the total bill was absurd for a 6-room property.
So we built what we needed. With 20 years of enterprise IT experience in payments, APIs, and security, we created a single platform that handles it all: guest communication via WhatsApp and SMS, smart lock management, digital check-in, task and housekeeping coordination, upselling, and AI-powered insights — unified in one mobile-first dashboard.
HFO Admin is now available to independent hotels, boutique properties, B&Bs, and short-term rentals worldwide. It works alongside your existing Property Management System — you don't replace what works, you add everything it's missing.
